The Holmestead Bed and Breakfast is situated on 11 acres overlooking the picturesque Catskill Mountains. Our one bedroom suite offers a private entrance, bedroom with a queen sized bed and a private bath, large living room and a small sitting area for breakfast. The Holmestead Bed and Breakfast is located just over a mile from Horse Shows in the Sun and minutes from the town of Saugerties which is known as the Antique Capitol of New York. Many fine dining and casual restaurants are scattered throughout the town and surrounding area.

There are a multitude of activities to enjoy based upon the season. In the winter, skiing at Bellayre, Hunter, and Windham Mountain(s) is close by as well as cross country skiing, ice skating and tubing. In the spring hundreds of miles of hiking/biking trails are available as well as first class fishing in the Hudson River (10 min. walk) or local streams.

The summer brings Horse Shows in the Sun to town for 6 weeks of Equestrian competitions. There is also hiking, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, tennis, sightseeing and shopping in and around the Catskill region. The summer season is capped off by the infamous Garlic Festival the last week of September drawing over 50,000 people to the event. The spectacular fall foliage concludes the year with yet another Saugerties festival. The Mum festival brings fall to a close. The Holmestead Bed and Breakfast is close to all this and more.
